Easy Baked Peaches
One of summer’s ultimate pleasures is biting into a ripe peach, the juicier the better! The soft flesh with irresistible its tongue tingling sweet and sour flavour will always be a core food memory for me.
Who would have thought there’s a way to enjoy fresh peaches even more? This simple Baked Peaches recipe is IT and it’s so simple. Bake plump juicy peaches baked until tender, then top them with a buttery crumble and bake again until golden brown. The aroma alone will have your family drooling!

However, if you don’t like peaches… you can use other tree fruit such as apples or pears and adjust the baking time as needed. Baked fruit is not only delicious, it also makes an impressive healthy-ish dessert for both family dinners and dinner parties.
Note: In this Baked Peaches recipe one serving is equal to one half of a peach topped with 2 – 3 tablespoons of crumble topping. If you prefer a larger serving size (two peach halves instead of one) or have more guests, simply scale the recipe as needed. Add three more peaches and double the crumble mixture to make 6 -12 servings.

Lastly, you may wish to top the warm peaches with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, or whipped cream for a little extra treat.
Ingredients for Baked Peaches
This recipe could get any simpler… unless you omit the crumble topping. Simply brush ripe peaches with honey and add a pinch of cinnamon and brown sugar before baking. This gluten free version is just as satisfying.
For this recipe you will need a sharp knife, a baking dish, a mixing bowl, and an oven.

- Peaches
- Honey
- Flour
- Brown Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Sea Salt
- Rolled Oats
- Butter
Choose firm, but ripe blemish free peaches that smell like peaches. They should have a slight give when you squeeze them gently. Try and buy similar sized peaches so they have a similar cooking time.

Brush the peaches with honey or maple syrup before baking to bring out the sweetness.
Feel free to substitute a gluten free flour blend in place of all purpose flour and use gluten free oats in the crumble topping.
If you are using salted butter in the crumble mixture, you may not need to add additional sea salt.

How to Make Baked Peaches
To begin, preheat oven to 350°. Spray an 8 x 8 inch (or larger) baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or smear butter all over it then set aside.
Next, wash and dry 3 ripe peaches. Cut each peach in half, slicing it vertically along the natural seam of
the peach. Carefully remove the pits without disturbing the flesh. Place the peach halves into the prepared baking dish, cut side up.
Brush the tops of the peaches with honey and then place the dish in the oven to bake for 10 minutes at 350 F.

In the meantime, make the crumble topping. Add 1/4 cup each of all-purpose flour and light brown sugar, 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt to a medium sized mixing bowl. Stir briefly with a fork or whisk.
Add 1/2 cup rolled oats and 4 tablespoons salted butter. Incorporate them into the flour mixture using a fork or rubbing with your fingers until the mixture becomes crumbly.
Remove the baking dish from the oven after the 10-minute bake time. Spoon the crumble mixture evenly between the cut peaches.

Place the dish back into the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the peach is tender. It could take more or less time depending upon the size of your peaches as well as how ripe they were.
Remove baking dish from the oven and allow the peaches to rest for about 10 minutes before serving. Top with vanilla ice cream if desired and enjoy!
Recipe Tips and Tricks
- For easy prep, leave the peach skins on. Peel peaches before baking, if desired.
- Choose fresh ripe peaches with just a little give when gently pressed.
- Adjust baking time based on how ripe and how large the peaches are. Check after 20 minutes of baking, they are ready when they are fork tender.
- Play with crumble flavours by adding a 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or pinch of ground cloves to the mixture.
- Add more texture to the crumble with finely chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Other serving topping suggestions include caramel sauce, Greek yogurt, or whipped topping.

Make Ahead and Storage Suggestions
Baked Peaches are best enjoyed immediately, but they can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Note that the crumble will not retain its crunchy texture.
To prepare this dessert recipe in advance, slice and prebake the peaches and mix up the crumble topping. Store them separately in the fridge and finish as directed just before serving.
